Feelings of Victimization
Victims of crime often suffer grievous and painful injuries that are not physical.
In this case, victims may lose their capacity to trust people; they may be overwhelmed
with guilt and shame; their relationships with loved ones may suffer serious disruptions.
A victim who has not been physically harmed may find that friends and family consider the
crime a minor incident no matter how the victim feels about it.
Financial loss, physical suffering, and emotional distress are problems a crime victim
may experience. Each victim reacts differently. Victims of violent and non-violent crime
need to talk about their feelings and feel supported.
CVS, Inc. can offer this support.
